Job summary

Bridgewell in Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist people with developmental and psychiatric disabilities in residential and community settings. You will provide daily living skills training, supervision, and support to foster independence and safety.

Responsibilities include documentation, transport, medication administration per MAP regulations, and collaboration with guardians and staff. A high school diploma or GED and driving a 12-passenger van are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 5+ years of verified experience in the same position is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organization and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assist people in our services with skills training in all activities of daily living during the day, evening and/or overnight hours.
• Create opportunities to develop independence and decision-making.
• Administer medications per MAP regulations when applicable.
• Transport and accompany people to medical, recreational and other activities.
• Maintain progress notes, shift checklists and required documentation.
• Conduct household tasks and participate in safety routines.
