Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume automotive service environment.
• High School Diploma, GED, or other recognized high school equivalency credential preferred.
• Deep technical acumen across modern vehicle systems, including high‑voltage, electrical, mechanical, and infotainment domains.
• Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles or workflow optimization in a service or production setting.
• Strong proficiency with digital tools, including dealership management systems (DMS), repair order tracking, and diagnostic software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach technicians to build a high-performance, collaborative culture.
• Actively manage team performance with feedback, reviews, and skills assessments.
• Foster an inclusive Rivian culture where everyone feels valued and empowered.
• Identify talent and create clear development paths with hands-on training.
• Advocate for the team, ensure needs are met and obstacles are removed.
• Lead by example and support any role to ensure overall success.
• Coordinate cross-team collaboration (DMO/VO/Sales).
• Manage vendor relationships (Amazon/DSP accounts).
• Ensure participation in huddles and KPI transparency.
• Develop site leadership and implement RIV EXCEL processes.
• Oversee workflows and technician development across shifts.
• Orchestrate the service operation daily.
• Own daily shop rhythm from intake to quality check.
• Prioritize workload based on technician skills and capacity.
• Coordinate with Parts and Service Advisors to remove bottlenecks.
• Apply first-principles problem solving to improve workflows.
• Monitor repair quality and cycle times to Rivian standards.
• Analyze KPIs to drive operational improvements.
• Maintain a safe, organized workshop.
• Act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Review accuracy of tech work order notes.
• Advocate for customers and feedback with technicians.
