Job summary

Rivian is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support vehicle repairs and provide service at various locations, including customer homes and production sites. The role is level-agnostic with responsibilities across diagnosis, repairs, parts handling and documentation.

The position requires a 40-hour work week with potential weekend/shift flexibility, strong tool proficiency, and a focus on safety and quality in EV systems. Travel to multiple sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week; weekends/holidays possible.
• Proficient with Windows or Mac environments.
• Strong organizational skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Fluent in reading/speaking English.
• Experience in automotive shop; EV repair a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections, at service centers or in the field.
• Identify Rivian product line, EV framework, tools and accessories.
• Follow repair procedures with available resources; maintain safety/quality.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality.
• Manage parts operations: ordering, receiving, shipping, inventory.
• Provide feedback to senior technicians/leadership for improvements.
• Support service campaigns and containment efforts.
• Document all work and notes for internal/external use.
• Collaborate with team and maintain professionalism with customers.
• Stay current with technical skills and trainings.
