Job summary

Rivian is hiring for an emerging to mid-level Technician role in Missouri to support electric vehicle repairs, inspections, and field service operations. You will work under senior technicians, gain hands-on experience, and grow technical acumen while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

The role primarily operates at a local service center, with potential for mobile routes, remote work, or plant support as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency credential preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years old.
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no suspensions or revocations within the past 3-5 years).
• Ability to drive a non-commercial truck and trailer is preferred.
• Availability for a standard 40-hour workweek, including potential shifts on weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, or overnights based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle Service & Repair: Perform or assist with assigned vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections—whether at a service center, mobile route, or remote location.
• Technical Guidance & Learning: Learn to identify and explain the product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories while establishing peer relationships and working under the mentorship of senior technicians.
• Procedure & Safety Adherence: Utilize available technical resources and follow repair procedures efficiently without compromising quality or safety.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct road tests on vehicles post-repair to verify repair quality and ensure operational safety.
• Parts & Operations Management: Assist with day-to-day parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, inventory tracking, and work order/expense reporting.
• Documentation: Maintain proper, detailed technical notes and documentation for all completed and in-process repairs for internal and external use.
• Customer Interaction: Perform duties with high professionalism when interacting with customers, families, third-party affiliates, and suppliers at service facilities or outreach events.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify process areas for improvement, provide constructive feedback to mentorship leads, and participate in service campaigns or containment initiatives.
• Professional Growth: Actively engage in required training, stay current on evolving technical skills, and maintain high-quality work with minimal supervision as experience increases.

Education

Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school/program
