Job summary

Rivian is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to support vehicle repairs. Based in Texas with potential travel to Rivian locations, the role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and customer-facing professionalism.

The position requires strong EV/auto shop experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and readiness for a 40-hour week including non-traditional hours. You’ll work with a team to diagnose, repair, and document work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record, with no suspensions or revocations in 3–5 years.
• Ability to drive a non‑commercial truck and trailer is preferred.
• Available for a 40‑hour work week, including weekends/holidays and shifts.
• Proficient with laptops/computers in Windows or Mac environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Fluent English reading/speaking.
• Ability to read/speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with vehicle diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections at a service center or in the field.
• Identify and explain Rivian product line, EV framework, tools, and accessories.
• Follow Rivian repair procedures using available resources without compromising quality.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality.
• Manage parts operations including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
• Provide feedback to senior technicians or leadership on improvements.
• Support service campaigns and containment initiatives.
• Document all work and notes for internal/external use.
• Collaborate with teammates and maintain high quality with minimal supervision.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Stay current with technical skills and required training.
• Interact with customers, families, 3rd parties, and suppliers as needed.
