Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare estimates for repair according to insurer and company guidelines. The apprentice will communicate Gerber's value and aim for a high closed sales ratio.

You'll work closely with the Estimator, handle damage mapping, take photos, upload to CCC One, and prepare accurate, profitable estimates while supporting production and client communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 16 I-CAR units required within 12 months.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience.
• Photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure WOW plan execution.
• Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Handles repair mapping, takes initial photographs and uploads to CCC One with notes.
• Notifies production of arrival and verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using Repair Planning Template.
• Collaborates with repair team to ensure accurate windshield notations and final parts list.
• Sets promise date using Promise Date Calculator and contacts customer to review estimate and date.
• Updates customer regularly per management standards.
• Participates in production meetings.
• Calls customers for next-day completion and schedules accordingly.
• Assists insurance adjusters with damage reports and re-inspection processes.
