Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Evansville, IN seeks an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare repair estimates in line with insurance partner and company guidelines. You will communicate value and support a high close ratio while working with the Estimator to develop skills.

You will greet customers, map damage, prepare parts lists, and participate in production meetings. The role requires strong communication, computer literacy, and reliability. On-site with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• 16 I-CAR units within 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customer at repair drop off and builds rapport.
• Maps damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities).
• Uploads photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time and related data.
• Notifies production that vehicle has arrived and places in production queue; verifies estimate during teardown.
• Finalizes estimate using proper Repair Planning Template.
• Works with repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct and complete; compiles final parts list.
• Uses Promise Date Calculator to set promise date; calls customer to review estimate and promise date.
• Updates customer regularly per management standards.
• Participates in regular production meetings.
• Calls customers whose cars will be completed the next day and schedules with them.
• Follow up with technicians after teardown and adjust estimates as needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and related tasks.
