Job summary

VEG is seeking a veterinary technician educator in the New York area to lead training for Assistants and Nurses in emergency care. You will develop curricular materials, run in-hospital training programs, and mentor team members to achieve VEG’s education standards.

You’ll split time between on-the-floor coaching and strategic program development, traveling locally to VEG Hospitals to deliver webinars, labs, and simulations, while advancing toward ECC or other specialty certifications.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician with emergency medicine experience.
• Love for teaching and nurturing growth in technicians and assistants.
• Ability to lead and coordinate training across teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hospital training with nursing leadership.
• Assess assistants and nurses to advance skills and certifications.
• Implement VEG training programs and act as point person.
• Mentor on-floor and allocate time for strategy and development.
• Facilitate in-person training and peer training opportunities.
• Collaborate to maximize educational outreach within VEG network.
• Discuss program development and training objectives with Nursing Education.
• Provide webinars, labs, and workshops for the nursing team.
• Evaluate and improve the assistant/technician leveling program.
• Develop curricular materials like slides, videos, and simulations.
