Qualifications

• 0-2 years of healthcare front desk/registration experience required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance verification helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects required information.
• Verifies patient ID and insurance details and updates records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent.
• Verifies coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects co-pays/deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and questions.
• Documents when patients cannot sign consent and nursing signs off as needed.
• Ensures proper insurance plan codes are identified for payment.
• Assembles paperwork to facilitate quick retrieval of patient visits.
• Places armbands for patient identification.
• Notifies department or physicians of arrivals; follows up if patients wait long.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts facility when plans are in place.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with policies and standards.
