Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an ER Registrar to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department.

You will gather and verify personal, insurance, and medical information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while delivering courteous service to patients and families. The role supports efficient department operations through accurate documentation, insurance verification, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams during emergencies.

Formación

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions required.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Registers patients for emergency services, obtaining all required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verifies patient identification and insurance details, updating records as needed.
• Obtains patient or family member signatures on consent forms and explains each consent.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collects patient co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and answers related questions.
• Documents when the patient cannot sign the consent form and notes nursing sign-off if applicable.
• Verifies insurance and identifies proper plan codes for accurate payment.
• Compiles necessary paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Places an armband on each patient for identification.
• Notifies relevant departments of patient arrival and follows up as needed.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts the facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
