Qualifications

• 0-2 years in healthcare setting including patient registration or front desk/admissions
• Post-secondary education or training in medical/healthcare administration preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills required

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately
• Register patients for emergency services and collect required information
• Verify patient identification and insurance details and update records
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations
• Assist patients with insurance requirements and questions
• Document accurately when patients cannot sign consent forms
• Ensure proper insurance plan codes for payments
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits
• Place armbands for patient identification
• Notify relevant staff of patient arrival and follow up if delays occur
• Communicate with key personnel during emergencies and follow active plans
• Perform other duties and maintain reliable attendance
