Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is seeking an ED Registration Clerk to support fast-paced emergency services. You will register patients, collect demographics and insurance details, and verify eligibility to ensure accurate accounts and patient safety.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, data-entry skills, and experience in hospital clerical work, with strong communication and multitasking abilities. This on-site role supports the ED team and patient flow.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma; college courses in Business/Healthcare admin preferred.
• 2 years insurance/clerical experience in hospital/medical office preferred.
• Proficiency in reading/writing/speaking English; strong data entry and typing.
• Knowledge of MS Windows and basic PC functionality; ability to use registration systems.

Responsibilities

• Register emergency department patients quickly, creating accounts within 90 seconds of arrival.
• Enter accurate demographics and insurance info to obtain MRN and account numbers.
• Request and document demographic, guarantor, and insurance details; verify eligibility.
• Collect patient liabilities at discharge and provide prompt registration support to clinicians.
