You will verify insurance, collect co-pays, explain consents, and support efficient department operations by collaborating with clinical and administrative teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration or healthcare administration
• Knowledge of insurance verification and basic medical terminology
• Familiarity with EHR systems and registration software
• Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately
• Register patients for emergency services and collect required information
• Verify patient identification and insurance details and update records
• Explain consents and obtain signatures; document when patient cannot sign
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations
• Assist patients with understanding insurance requirements and questions
• Document when patient cannot sign consents and nursing signs off
• Notify physicians or departments of patient arrival and status
• Maintain armbands for patient identification throughout stay
• Follow emergency codes and communicate with facility during emergencies
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
