• Post-secondary training in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• Experience in patient registration or front desk in healthcare settings helpful.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and basic medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Registers patients for emergency services and collects required information.
• Verifies patient identity and insurance details in records.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each before signing.
• Verifies insurance coverage and billing information for accuracy.
• Collects co-pays and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with insurance requirements and questions.
• Documents thoroughly when a patient cannot sign consent forms.
• Ensures proper insurance plan codes for accurate payments.
• Prepares necessary paperwork for rapid retrieval of visits.
• Attaches armbands for patient identification throughout stay.
