Job summary

Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to float between Med-Surg and the Emergency Department, providing patient-centered care on a 12-hour shift schedule with rotating weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate patient education.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license, have a background in clinical settings, and are prepared to obtain ACLS/PALS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Minimum of 1 year working in clinical setting preferred
• ACLS, PALS within 6 months of hire
• Certification from ANA in ER or Geriatrics preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Patient Care Team to promote patient safety and high-quality care.
• Be an engaged member of the care team and coordinate patient care delivery.
• Float between ER and Med/Surg, covering observation/inpatient or swing bed patients as needed.
• Perform bedside shift handoffs and teach-back with patients.
• Ensure hourly rounding and safety checks are completed per policy.
