Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Float Pool. The position covers Med/Surg, ICU and ER with 3x12 night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays. The Float Pool offers breadth of experience across units and a strong orientation program.

Applicants should have an RN license in Pennsylvania or a valid multistate license, with 3–5 years of nursing practice. ADN required; BSN preferred. BLS is required; ACLS or timeline to obtain ACLS is expected.

Qualifications

• RN license in Pennsylvania or multistate license (MSL).
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• 3–5 years of nursing experience; Med/Surg, ICU or ER preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS or ACLS obtainable within a defined timeline.

Responsibilities

• Float to open positions in Med/Surg, ICU and ER as needed.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Educates patients/families appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
• Coordinate care across disciplines including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Administer medications and IV therapies; monitor effects and adverse reactions.
• Develop discharge plans with physician, patient, and family; provide self-care instructions.
