Job summary

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for its Float Pool. This full-time role covers Med/Surg, ICU and ER units, with 3x12 night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays, offering a pathway to broaden clinical skills across departments.

Applicants should hold an RN license in PA (or compact state) with 3–5 years of nursing experience, BLS, ACLS, and PALS or willing to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• RN graduate with current nurse's license in PA or MSL.
• Associate's degree is required; BSN preferred.
• Three to five years' nursing experience, preferably Med/Surg, ICU and ER.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or obtained within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Float to open positions in Med/Surg, ICU and ER as needed.
• Document patient care provided.
• Assess learning needs of patient and family and provide appropriate education.
• Coordinate patient care and transfers with multidisciplinary team.
• Act as advocate for patient's physical and emotional well-being.
• Administer medications and IV therapies and monitor effects.
• Report staffing, supply, or equipment needs to management.
• Mentor new personnel and model professional practice.
