Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in Oregon seeks an Emergency Department Clinical Educator to lead clinical education, orientation, and competency validation within the ED. The role partners with the Nurse Manager and cross-functional teams to advance evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate holds an Oregon RN license with an Associate Degree in Nursing, and preferably a Bachelor's or Master's.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse license in Oregon required.
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
Experience with precepting, mentoring, staff education, or clinical leadership required.
Experience with simulation-based education, clinical competency development and validation, quality improvement, or disaster preparedness preferred.
National certifications in emergency nursing or related specialties preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides clinical education, staff development, orientation, competency validation, and clinical coordination within the Emergency Department.
Partners with the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary teams to support evidence-based emergency nursing practice and patient-centered care.
Serves as a clinical resource and mentor while supporting daily department operations as assigned.
Coordinates annual and ongoing department competency validation; maintains competency tools and evaluates skills.
Supports triage, patient flow, room utilization, admissions, transfers, and communications across shifts.
