Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in Oregon seeks an Emergency Department Clinical Educator to lead education, orientation, competency validation, and clinical coordination within the ED. You will partner with the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary teams to support evidence-based emergency nursing practice, emergency preparedness, quality improvement, and safe, timely patient- and family-centered care.

The role requires current Oregon RN licensure, ED nursing experience, and strong skills in mentoring,

Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license is required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN/MSN preferred.
• ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS/ENPC or equivalent certifications needed within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides ED education through classroom, bedside teaching, simulation, skills validation, and just‑in‑time training.
• Coordinates orientation plans for new and transferring staff with Nurse Manager and preceptors.
• Identifies learning gaps and arranges remediation in collaboration with leadership.
• Develops preceptors and mentors staff to strengthen clinical judgment and professional development.
• Manages annual and ongoing department competency validation and records.
• Participates in mock codes, simulations, disaster drills, and emergency preparedness activities.
• Serves as a clinical resource and supports staffing and patient flow based on acuity and competency.
• Promotes patient- and family-centered care and effective interdepartmental communication.
