Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in the United States is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Clinical Educator to provide clinical education, staff development, orientation, competency validation, and coordination within the Emergency Department.

You will partner with the Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary teams to support evidence-based emergency nursing practice, emergency preparedness, quality improvement, and safe, timely, patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Emergency nursing competence and clinical practice.
• Ability to assess learning needs and develop educational resources.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate patient flow and improve safety.

Responsibilities

• Assesses staff educational needs and aligns with department priorities.
• Delivers ED education through classroom, bedside, and simulation.
• Educates on emergency assessment, treatment, and disposition.
• Reinforces evidence-based practice and hospital policies.
• Coordinates orientation plans for new and transferring staff.
• Identifies gaps and coordinates remediation with leadership.
• Supports preceptors and mentors clinical staff.
• Manages competency validation and records.
• Participates in mock codes and disaster drills.
• Provides direct patient care as needed and supports staffing decisions.

Education

RN license in Oregon

Associate Degree in Nursing

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred

ACLS

PALS

TNCC

BLS

CEN or equivalent (preferred)
