Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as an RN in Oregon.
• BLS required; ACLS card required or must be obtained by deadline after grace period.
• CCR N or equivalent certification preferred.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as clinical educator and role model for ICU/IMCU nursing staff and interdisciplinary team.
• Assess learning needs using observation, chart reviews, quality data, and staff feedback.
• Develop and deliver unit-specific education through bedside teaching, classroom, and simulations.
• Coordinate orientation for new and transferring staff with individualized learning plans.
• Evaluate orientee progress and ensure consistency in orientation processes.
• Mentor preceptors and support specialty certification and professional development.
• Maintain ICU/IMCU competencies aligned with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate annual/ongoing competency validation including high-risk skills.
• Identify learning gaps and coordinate individualized education and follow-up with leadership.
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory, pharmacy, and others to standardize evidence-based practices.
• Participate in evaluating new equipment, medications, procedures, and practices; provide staff education.
• Monitor patient safety and quality indicators with leadership; support improvement initiatives.
• Support infection prevention, falls, medication safety, sepsis, and ventilator-associated event education.
• Support education/improvement efforts and participate in root cause analyses when requested.
