Job summary

The City of Austin seeks a Coordinator for the Community Services Program to lead outreach, coordinate resources, and train staff within the Watershed Protection efforts. You will work across departments to advance equity initiatives and engage with residents, officials, and partners to improve programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in a related field.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.
• Experience in community outreach and engagement preferred.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Leads initiatives related to community services and outreach.
• Serves as primary liaison to City Council, departments, schools, residents and stakeholders.
• Collaborates to promote services and engage the community based on needs.
• Arranges staff development and training opportunities for services.
• Assists in short- and long-range planning and policy development.
• Conducts research, compiles data, writes reports, and makes recommendations.
• Responds to inquiries and handles complaints from internal and external sources.
• Identifies grant opportunities and prepares grant applications.
