Job summary

Sentara Health seeks an experienced Epic Willow Application Specialist to support Willow Inpatient and Willow Ambulatory systems. You will work with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, and IT teams to optimize medication management processes and ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.

The role requires Epic Willow certification, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and 3+ years of healthcare IT or Epic experience. Strong collaboration and testing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, healthcare administration, pharmacy, clinical discipline, or related field required.
• Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory Certification required.
• 3+ years of relevant application support, clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or Epic experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience supporting Epic Willow Inpatient and/or Willow Ambulatory in a healthcare environment.
• Experience analyzing pharmacy workflows and translating business and clinical requirements into system solutions.
• Experience with testing, upgrades, change management, incident management, and system optimization.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, and operational leaders on application enhancements and implementations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day support, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic Willow applications.
• Collaborates with pharmacy leadership, clinicians, operational stakeholders, and IT teams to analyze workflows and implement system improvements.
• Evaluates software releases, upgrades, and new functionality to optimize clinical and business outcomes while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
• Performs workflow assessments, gathers functional requirements, develops testing plans, and supports implementation of system enhancements.
• Provides application support, incident resolution, change management, and project coordination as SME for Epic Willow.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Clinical Discipline, or related field
