Mercyhealth is seeking a clerical specialist in Illinois to handle incoming calls, greet visitors, manage Epic Messages, and support patient registration and cashiering tasks. This role emphasizes privacy, accuracy, and efficient front-desk service across a busy health system.

Responsibilities include scheduling, EMR check-in, co-pay collection, and daily cash handling while maintaining a courteous, professional environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Basic keyboard skills and medical terminology knowledge.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding Critical Moments of Service techniques and standards.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, determine caller purpose, and route to appropriate personnel.
• Manage Epic Messages and EMR registration check-in processes in Epic.
• Greet on-site visitors and issue passes as required.
• Sort mail, assist with supplies, and handle faxing and document prep.
• Maintain lobby areas and uphold privacy per policies.
