Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a medical receptionist to handle clerical duties, patient scheduling, and Epic registration. This role includes answering calls, guiding visitors, processing messages, and assisting with front-desk operations in a fast-paced health system.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior reception experience. Proficiency in Epic and strong communication skills are preferred, with flexibility for peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls and routes to appropriate personnel.
• Retrieves messages from voicemail and forwards to staff.
• Welcomes on-site visitors and manages lobby flow.
• Schedules patient appointments and handles Epic registration/check-in.
• Loads and updates patient demographics in Epic; verifies insurance.
• Performs cashiering and online payment posting in Epic.
