Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a courteous Medical Office Clerk to join our Illinois network. You will answer calls, greet visitors, schedule appointments, and perform Epic registration tasks, including demographic and insurance verification.

You will collect co-pays, post payments, assist patients with MyChart, and protect patient privacy. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are required; Epic experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls and forwards to appropriate personnel.
• Greets on-site visitors and announces visitors to staff.
• Schedules patient appointments in Epic.
• Registers patients and verifies demographics and insurance in Epic.
• Collects co-payments and posts in Epic; assists patients with MyChart.
• Preps daily routes for upcoming appointments and manages queues.
• Safeguards patient privacy per policies.
