Job summary

Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD, seeks an experienced Epic Clinical Information System Analyst II to support the Epic Program Department in delivering reliable clinical IT solutions.

You will analyze requirements, design workflows, configure Epic modules, test changes, lead small projects, and mentor junior staff while ensuring system stability and end-user education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree completed in healthcare, information systems, business or related field.
• 5–6 years of direct clinical/healthcare IT experience including implementation, optimization, or production support.
• Epic certification is required or must be obtained within the timeframe set by AHC.
• No formal supervisory experience required; leadership of workstreams preferred.
• Willingness to travel, on-call coverage, and extended-hour support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyzes intermediate-to-advanced clinical requirements; designs workflows and configures Epic modules.
• Owns complex application incidents and performs root-cause analysis with cross-application troubleshooting.
• Plans and leads small-to-medium projects, managing requirements, milestones, risks, testing, and implementation.
• Serves as liaison among end users, Epic reps, and technical teams to meet business needs and timelines.
• Creates testing plans (unit/integration/regression/UAT) and validates production outcomes.
• Maintains documentation, training materials, and procedures for end users.
• Provides guidance and quality review for less-experienced analysts and users.
• Participates in go-lives, upgrades, downtimes, on-call support, and escalation communication.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
