Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental initiatives in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will assist with site investigations, data interpretation, and risk assessments, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to apply approved project approaches. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties and projects.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis/interpretation of data for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Contributes to development of data quality objectives, QA plans, and sampling/analysis plans.
• Prepares exposure models and risk assessments for various project scopes.
• Collaborates with scientists and engineers to implement project approaches.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
• Supports proposals and client communications; develops white papers on environmental issues.
