Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects across CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will assist with site investigations, develop DQOs/QAPPs/SAPs, and contribute to CSEMs and BERAs. Travel may be required; mentoring and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are key aspects of the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in science with registration/certification preferred.
• 7 years of related environmental consulting experience required.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as duties require.
• Background in toxicology, environmental science or related disciplines is preferred.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and environmental regulation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and data interpretation for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Develops data quality objectives (DQOs), QA/QAPs and SAPs in projects.
• Prepares CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs and BERAs for various complexities.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provides technical evaluation of project documents and client-facing meetings.
• Offers guidance and mentoring to junior staff and growth within the firm.
• Supports proposals in response to client RFPs and contributes to white papers.
• Attends conferences to enhance visibility of firm products and services.
