Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will assist with site investigations, develop DQOs/QAPPs/SAPs, and contribute to exposure models and BERAs across varying complexity while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and supporting proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline; professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and interpretation of data for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Develops Data Quality Objectives (DQOs), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and Sampling and Analysis Plans (SAPs).
• Prepares conceptual site exposure models (CSEMs), HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs for various complexities.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement project approaches.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and supports client meetings and proposals.
