Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects from our Environmental Services Group. You will assist with regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

Responsibilities include supporting site investigations, developing DQOs/QAPPs/SAPs, and creating CSEMs and HHRAs. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and client-facing activities are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or related discipline; professional registration preferred.
• At least 7 years of related experience in environmental consulting or regulation.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required with frequency varying by project.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Clinical/field work experience in environmental risk assessment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and analysis for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Help develop data quality objectives (DQOs), QAPPs, and sampling and analysis plans (SAPs).
• Prepare CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs for projects of varying complexity.
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical guidance and train junior staff for growth within the discipline.
