Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects across CDM Smith’s portfolio.

The position involves developing and applying risk assessment methodologies, data quality objectives, and exposure models, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and contributing to client proposals

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification or Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
7 years of related experience.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

Supports site investigations and interpretation of data for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
Develops data quality objectives (DQOs), QAPPs, and SAPs.
Prepares conceptual site exposure models (CSEMs) and HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs.
Collaborates with scientists and engineers to implement project approaches.
Provides technical evaluation of project documents and supports client meetings.
Mentors junior staff and supports training.
Supports proposals in response to RFPs.
Contributes to firm's technical knowledge through white papers.
Attends conferences and symposia to promote firm's products and services.
