Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects in the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects within our portfolio.

Responsibilities include supporting site investigations, developing DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs, preparing exposure models and risk assessments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to implement approved approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science with professional scientist registration/certification.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis for human health risk assessments (HHRA) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Develops data quality objectives (DQOs), Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), and sampling and analysis plans (SAPs).
• Plans for and prepares CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs of varying complexity.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists to advise on project approaches.
• Provides technical guidance and mentors junior staff.
• Supports proposals in response to RFPs and collaborates with sales staff.
• Develops white papers on emerging environmental issues.
• Attends conferences and symposia to showcase firm capabilities.
• Performs other duties as required.
