Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local levels within CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will assist in site investigations, develop data quality objectives, QA plans, and sampling programs, and help prepare exposure models and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Contributes to data quality objectives (DQOs), QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Assists in planning for HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs of varying complexity.
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and mentors their growth.
• Supports proposals in response to client RFPs.
• Develops white papers on emerging environmental issues.
