Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance for federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will work with teams to develop DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs, and contribute to exposure modeling, HHRAs, SLERAs, and BERAs from basic to high complexity. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline with professional scientist registration/certification OR Master's degree in Science or related discipline.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Supports site investigations and analysis and interpretation of data for human health risk assessments (HHRAs) and ecological risk assessments (ERAs).
• Supports data quality objectives, QA/QC plans, and sampling and analysis plans.
• Prepares exposure models and risk assessments (CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs).
• Collaborates with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists to implement project approaches.
• Provides technical guidance, reviews client documents, and mentors junior staff.
