Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Environmental Risk Assessor to support Human Health and Ecological projects within the Environmental Services Group. The role focuses on regulatory compliance efforts for federal, state, and local environmental projects in CDM Smith’s portfolio.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to develop DQOs, QAPPs, SAPs and exposure models, while ensuring project approaches meet regulatory requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline, or Master's degree.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support site investigations and interpretation of data for human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Assist risk teams with DQOs, QAPPs, and SAPs.
• Assist in planning for CSEMs, HHRAs, SLERAs, BERAs for basic to high complexity.
• Collaborate with scientists, geologists, engineers, and toxicologists on project approaches.
• Provide technical evaluation on oversight projects and participate in client meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and support sales in RFP responses.
• Contribute to technical knowledge with white papers on environmental issues.
• Present at conferences to improve visibility of firm’s products and services.
