Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an intermediate design engineer with a broad environmental site remediation background for federal and global private sector clients. Based anywhere in the United States, you’ll design remedial actions and systems with support from our global team, analyzing site conditions and developing engineering designs.

You’ll communicate through work plans, reports, and drawings while mentoring others. This is a Hybrid role balancing office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge and experience with environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
• Minimum of 4 years of on-the-job experience in environmental remediation with project examples.
• Minimum of 2 years designing environmental remedial actions or remediation systems.
• Experience writing specifications, basis of design reports, and design drawings.
• Ability to communicate concisely, via written and verbal communications, with team members.
• Ability to work remotely with teams nationwide.
• Based within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design environmental remedial actions or remediation systems and evaluate site conditions.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop designs and design documents.
• Prepare work plans and reports, including basis of design.
• Coordinate with project team and mentor junior staff.
• Support field data gathering and site visits as needed.
• Maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance on projects.
