Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an intermediate design engineer specializing in environmental site remediation for federal and private sector clients. Based anywhere in the United States, you’ll design remedial actions and systems with engineers, scientists, and PMs on nationwide projects.

You’ll write specifications, develop designs, and prepare reports while mentoring others. The role is hybrid with office and field support, emphasizing safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge and experience with environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
• Minimum of 4 years on-the-job experience in environmental remediation with project examples.
• Minimum of 2 years designing environmental remedial actions or remediation systems with project examples.
• Experience writing specifications, basis of design reports, and design drawings.
• Ability to communicate concisely and proactively in written and verbal communications.
• Ability to work remotely with teams nationwide.
• Based within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design environmental remedial actions and remediation systems.
• Evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, assess remedial alternatives.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop designs.
• Prepare work plans, reports, and design documents including design specifications.
• Mentor and collaborate with team members; pass knowledge to others.
• Spend time in the field to gather data and support projects as needed.
• Maintain Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance on all tasks.
