Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an intermediate design engineer with a broad background in environmental site remediation for federal and global private sector clients. Based anywhere in the United States, you’ll design remedial actions and systems with support from our global remediation technology team, evaluating site data and preparing design documentation.

You’ll work primarily in the office with some field exposure and prioritize safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
• Minimum 4 years in environmental remediation with project examples.
• Minimum 2 years designing environmental remedial actions or remediation systems.
• Experience writing specifications, basis of design reports, and design drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication with teams nationwide.
• Based within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design environmental remedial actions or remediation systems.
• Evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, assess alternatives, and perform engineering calculations.
• Prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with Design Managers and discipline leads.
• Occasionally work in the field to gather design data and oversee subcontractors.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering
