Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an intermediate design engineer with a broad background in environmental site remediation for federal and private sector clients. Based anywhere in the United States, you will design remedial actions and systems, analyze site conditions, and prepare work plans and design documentation with guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Knowledge of environmental remediation technologies, systems, or remedial actions.
• Minimum of 4 years in environmental remediation with project examples.
• Minimum of 2 years designing environmental remedial actions or systems.
• Experience writing specifications, basis of design reports, and design drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to work with nationwide teams.
• Based within the United States and able to work remotely with teams nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Design environmental remedial actions or remediation systems and evaluate data needs.
• Perform engineering calculations and develop technical designs and drawings.
• Prepare work plans, reports, and design documents including specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff; own assigned tasks.
• Support safety and environmental compliance across project work.
• Occasionally spend time in the field supporting data collection.
