Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a high-impact Environmental Principal to expand our environmental consulting business across the Central Region. This senior seller-doer will cultivate trusted client relationships, influence growth strategy, and drive organic growth through strategic leadership and national capabilities.

The role offers flexibility to work remotely, in a hybrid setup, or from an Apex office within the Central Region, with occasional travel for meetings, project support, and industry

Qualifications

• 15+ years of environmental consulting, engineering, or leadership experience with increasing responsibility.
• Established professional reputation and network within the environmental industry.
• Proven ability to develop and grow client relationships and generate new business.
• Proven seller-doer in a consulting environment balancing business development, client management, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Grow and lead relationships with regional, national, and multi-site clients in priority markets.
• Identify, develop, and win opportunities through technical expertise and client networks.
• Lead client calls/meetings and major proposal efforts with SMEs and client managers.
• Contribute to cross-selling across Apex's environmental, engineering, water, health and safety, infrastructure, and sustainability services.
• Mentor Project Managers to build business development capabilities.
