Job summary

Apex Companies, a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm, seeks an Environmental Principal to drive growth in the Central Region. This senior seller-doer will expand our environmental practice by deepening trusted client relationships and shaping strategic direction with Regional leadership and national resources.

The role offers remote, hybrid, or office-based work within Apex’s Central Region, with opportunities to engage clients continuously and contribute to the firm’s growth

Qualifications

• 15+ years of environmental consulting, engineering, environmental compliance, remediation, water resources, or industry leadership experience.
• Established professional reputation within the environmental industry with a network of industry contacts.
• Demonstrated success in developing and growing client relationships and generating new business in a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to operate as a seller-doer balancing business development, client management, technical leadership, and project execution.
• Ability to identify client needs, shape practical solutions, and support business development with both existing and new accounts.

Responsibilities

• Grow and lead client relationships by expanding strategic regional, national, and multi-site accounts.
• Identify, develop, and win opportunities through technical expertise and industry networks.
• Lead client calls/meetings and major proposals with SMEs and client managers.
• Contribute to cross-selling Apex's environmental, engineering, water, health & safety, infrastructure, and sustainability services.
• Mentor Project Managers to develop their business development skills.
• Provide technical guidance across environmental compliance, site investigation/remediation, permitting, due diligence, audits, stormwater, wastewater, air quality, waste.
