Apex Companies, a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm, seeks an Environmental Principal to expand the Central Region. This senior seller-doer will build trusted client relationships and shape growth strategy.

You will collaborate with regional leadership and technical teams, leverage national capabilities, and mentor project managers while maintaining a strong market presence. Flexible remote/hybrid/work-from-office options are available with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of environmental consulting, engineering, environmental compliance, remediation, or related leadership experience.
• Established professional reputation with a network of industry contacts.
• Proven success in growing client relationships and new business in a consulting environment.
• Seller-doer capability balancing business development, client management, technical leadership, and project execution.
• Ability to develop strategies and support business development across accounts.

Responsibilities

• Build, strengthen, and expand strategic client relationships in priority markets.
• Identify, develop, and win opportunities through technical expertise and networking.
• Lead client calls/meetings and major proposals with SMEs and client managers.
• Contribute to cross-selling of Apex's environmental, engineering, and sustainability services.
• Mentor Project Managers to grow business development skills.
