Job summary

PRIME AE Group, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Practice Leader to join our Transportation & Natural Resources team. The role blends hands-on technical work with leadership to grow PRIME AE’s environmental capabilities across multiple offices in the Midwest region.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in environmental consulting, strong NEPA expertise, and a track record of managing projects, clients, and staff while coordinating with regulatory agencies and design teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental consulting teams on transportation projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEPA, wetlands, waterways, and permitting.
• Proven ability to manage scopes, budgets, and client expectations.
• Experience with INDOT, KYTC, ODOT, FHWA, or similar agencies is preferred.
• Desire to mentor staff and build an expanding environmental practice.

Responsibilities

• Serve as environmental project manager or technical lead on transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Develop scopes, fees, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide QA/QC of environmental documents and studies.
• Mentor staff and help grow PRIME AE’s environmental capabilities.
• Support business development and client relationship building.
• Integrate environmental commitments early in project development.
