Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Downers Grove, IL. You will perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and support environmental services market projects.

The internship offers exposure to design tasks, data analysis, and presentation preparation across municipal, state, and federal clients. Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred; driving growth in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry and documentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
