Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist with standard engineering techniques, design updates, and project duties across market segments. You will collaborate with senior engineers and help prepare data and presentations.

The role emphasizes geotechnical work, data collection, and analysis, with ABET accreditation preferred and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Current enrollment in civil/geotechnical programs is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Pursuit of Master’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a related post-secondary program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks requiring standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Support design updates and documentation for projects.
• Collaborate with lead engineers on project duties and ad hoc tasks.
• Prepare data, reports, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Contribute to data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
