Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply standard techniques to design and update engineering systems. You will assist lead engineers with project duties across Environmental Services markets, supporting municipal, state, and federal clients.

You will perform filing, data entry, analysis, and PowerPoint presentations, while developing your communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills through campus and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field is required.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other volunteer activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and self-motivation.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions and project duties.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to project concerns.
• Research solutions and recommend improvements to problems.
• Support ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
