Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis/St Paul is seeking an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and update designs across Environmental Services projects for municipal, state, and federal clients.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, with ABET accreditation strongly preferred. Candidates should show strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills and be self-motivated learners.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Active campus or community involvement preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with responses to general questions.
  • Collect and analyze data for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Present solutions to concerns.
  • Research solutions to project concerns and recommend actions.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
