Job summary

Sedgwick in Brea, CA is hiring for an entry-level Claims Representative (IAP) through a structured Workers’ Compensation Training Program. The role starts with a 4-week concept-based learning and onboarding, then progresses to on-the-job activities with a mentor and manager guiding career development.

The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, empathetic, and capable of multi-tasking. Training includes handling correspondence, interviewing, and subrogation indicators while learning

Qualifications

• Education requirement – High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree preferred and 2 years of customer service experience and/or combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete designated claims professional training program.
• Adjust workers’ compensation claims under supervision, processing mail, emails and documents.
• Communicate with injured workers, insureds/employers, medical providers, attorneys, and carriers.
• Investigate claims by gathering medical records, employer reports and witness statements.
• Determine coverage, compensability and benefits per guidelines and carrier requirements.
• Document claim activity and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
• Administer indemnity and medical benefits, maintaining compliance and calendared actions.
• Participate in virtual and in-person claim reviews and meetings.
