Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a dependable Material Handler I to support receiving, stocking, and shipping operations in a busy HVAC wholesaler environment. You will operate forklifts and RF scanners, ensure accurate inventory, and help maintain safety and documentation standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and forklift certification, with preferred experience in a warehouse setting. A strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork will help you succeed in this role at Johnstone

Qualifications

• Education and experience: High school diploma or GED; 0–1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination.
• Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.

Responsibilities

• Operates power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) to locate, put away, and move products.
• Receives product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Verifies shipments against packing lists and completes paperwork.
• Ensures bar code labels and stock numbers are verified and legible.
• Fills orders by picking products, packing items, and labeling for shipment.
• Documents the shipment of hazardous materials with proper labeling and paperwork.
• Prepares orders for shipment and pallets for loading.
• Maintains accuracy and efficiency per SOPs.
• May participate in inventory cycle counts and related projects.
• Maintains a safe work environment and reports safety concerns.
